According to CNN, the pranksters will act casual about it. They will have conversations with fellow riders, listen to music, read and just do normal things, except with no pants on.
Once the rides are complete, the pranksters plan on gathering together at specific bars for chatter and drinks.
According to Gather, the event was started by Imrpov Everywhere. The point of the event is to just act normal while in just a pair of underwear.
The website suggests that participants wear interesting underwear. However, the site does not say why participants are not going to be wearing pants.
According to sources, this year will be the fifth year for the event. The event will start at 2pm and end at 5pm.

The event is not affiliated with any sort of nudism event or group. The event is to enjoy the “hilarity” of 400 or so people just forget to put on pants for the day.

At the opening of the Vasnat naturist resort last weekend about 60 people came to scope out the premises and had no problems shedding their clothes once the dignitaries had left.

And 95% of them were local Afrikaners, said Mark Taylor, who runs the resort with his wife Samantha.

The naturist couple are not new to the nudist resort business, having established the Vassalike Naturis Club on the Greek island of Kefalonia in 2007.

Since then – and despite the global economic downturn – their naked ambition has seen their unusual business flourish, and now expand to South Africa.

“People thought we were totally crazy when we left our jobs to start a hotel for naturists,” said Samantha, 32, who walked out on a lucrative management role at City firm JP Morgan. Mark, 39, worked as a chef.

The new resort, on an extensive property backing onto the Helderberg Mountains, boasts an outdoor swimming pool, luscious gardens, easy access to the beach and a spa.

Mark said they run a respectable operation.

“There are no sexual connotations at all,” said Mark.

“If anyone has any wrong ideas they’ll be out so fast they won’t believe it.”

The point of naturism was to enjoy nature without having to wear a “soggy bathing costume”.

Clients were professionals of all ages who wanted to enjoy nature and socialise without the burden of clothing.

“When people undress they become so much more sociable as all symbols of status were stripped,” said Mark.

Close-up pictures from a massive nude photo shoot orchestrated by celebrated artist Spencer Tunick have reportedly leaked online in recent days, in what shoot organizers claim was done against their wishes.

In September, 1,200 male and female volunteers participated in the mass nude photograph at the Dead Sea, including men and women ranging from 20 years old to somewhere in their sixties.

They set out for the Dead Sea before dawn and modeled in three different arrangements: one in the sea, one on land and one ‘modest’ shot where they were covered in the famous Dead Sea mud.

However, the Flickr picture-sharing website held a few photographs, which seem to have been taken by photographer Casey Kelbaugh, and which clearly depict volunteers from close up, in a way that would enable their identity to be disclosed.

In addition, a 6-minute YouTube clip was uploaded, which included close-up shots of participants.

Volunteers who had discovered the breach were outraged, with one of them, Adi, 30, from Ramat Gan, saying that he “discovered it through the internet and was very surprised.”

“My expectation was that if anything was leaked if would be the work of peeping toms,” Adi said, expressing dismay that the photos that made it online seemed to be taken by an official photographer participating in the Tunick project.

Kelbaugh, however, denies the claims he had leaked the photos, saying that he had no idea how the photos made it online, and was working himself to take them off.

Covered in nothing more or less than streaks of body paint, sequined fanny packs, party hats and noise makers, this fun group known as Young Naturist America (aka: YNA) is turning this years New Years Eve into a Nude Years Eve in better hopes of changing the world with their shirts off their back from coast to coast.

Going on its second annual holiday celebration, YNA decided to fulfill its previous New Year’s resolution by working hand in hand with Ranger World, a Naturist group dedicated to helping preserve the true fundamentals of naturism, along with an online funding platform called the Bare Naked Bake Sale (BNakedB) designed to “help people bare all (or some) and create provocative photo campaigns that raises money for their cause or project.” Other than throwing some off the wall parties, YNA aims to collect enough money in raffle drawings and auctions to re-build a women’s shelter in the New York suburbs. Raffle prizes for this event include complimentary massages and yoga lessons offered by event sponsors.

This New Years event takes place at a secret location in Keansburg, NJ area, beginning at 8pm. Even while this is a private party, it is open to public at a pre-registration entry fee of $40 per person. (if purchased in advance and bought online prior to December 17th) There will be an “all you can drink” open bar all throughout the night between 8pm – 3am along with complimentary snacks and cheap bar food!

To ensure that all drivers drink responsibly a shuttle also known as a “Nudie Bus” will be pre-arranged to transport party goers to and from the party. The federal court in Lausanne rejected an appeal by a hiker who was fined after he paraded past a family picnic area in the eastern canton of Appenzell, and a Christian rehabilitation centre for drug users – no doubt putting them right off their smack. The beaks said that upholding his 100 Swiss franc (£69) fine was only a marginal infringement of his personal freedom, although even that could be quite painful in freezing conditions.

Appenzell is not the most forward-thinking place in Europe – they only gave women the vote in 1990 – but even they have moved on from those old Garden of Eden values.

The Klitschko brothers have joined forces with Sylvester Stallone to put on a musical of Rocky. The Ukrainian heavyweight champions will produce the show and help choose the leading man. They have to find someone who can really hit the high notes.

It never rains but it pours

A match between Granada and Real Mallorca had to be abandoned after a linesman was struck by a fan’s umbrella. A 15-year-old boy from a local homeless shelter who had been invited by the club was fined €5,000 (£4,300), even though it was ruled an accident. Poor lad, no roof over his head, and now no brolly either.

“We have some pretty boring events,” said Kansas City-area man Mark Partin, 38.

But the key difference for the Heartland Naturists is that they check their clothes — all of them — at the door.

Over milkshakes and french fries at an area restaurant, Partin, along with two other members, Mike, 64, and Greg, 57, who asked not to use their last names, talk openly about their group and the frequent misconceptions people have about being a nudist.

For nearly four decades, the group, which started in Lawrence in 1982 and currently has about 50 members, simply provides an outlet for area people who like to go au naturel.

“A lot of people think it’s got to be an orgy going on,” Mike said. Instead, it’s just “talking, conversation.” They typically don’t have alcohol at events, and most of them wrap up before 10 p.m., he said.

Members range in age from children who attend with their parents, to senior citizens in their 80s. Some are government workers, accountants, and they even had a pastor for a while.

“It’s a mix,” said Partin, who’s been a nudist for 20 years.

The origins of the group date back to the early 1980s, when on hot summer days, hundreds of nudists could be found lounging at Lake Henry, now part of Clinton Lake State Park, said Webb Garlinghouse, one of the original members.

“I don’t think I saw a swimsuit there,” he said. However, the lake was eventually closed by the state of Kansas, Garlinghouse said, and members began looking for other places. Some gravitated toward Topeka and the nudist-friendly campsite, Lake Edun, while others, like the Heartland Naturists, moved toward Kansas City.

Keeping it family-oriented

In order to make the events family-friendly and free of any sexual nature, the Heartland Naturists screen anyone interested in joining. There’s a phone interview and criminal background check before anyone’s allowed to come to an event, and first-timers must show identification.

“We’re pretty strict,” said Nicky Hoffman, president of the national Naturists organization, of which the local group is a chapter.

There’s even an etiquette sheet for the 100 or so chapters — with more than 10,000 members — scattered across the country.

Motivations for being a nudist differ in the local group. Some say it’s about promoting a healthy body image. For others, like Jean, a 30-year-old area woman who attends with her husband, it’s just a laid-back, social experience.

“For us, it’s more of a relaxation,” said Jean, who was originally skeptical when her husband first convinced her to attend a nudist event seven years ago. “Everyone’s friendly.”

And the group doesn’t necessarily have an agenda to push, Partin said.

“It’s not a political cause,” said Partin, though the members do work at educating the public on nudism when they can.

Mike, one of the senior members of the group, said he’s often surprised when others have a difficult time understanding the group or their motivations for being nudists.

“It’s just fun and pleasant, and don’t deny yourself,” he said.

Drive past old barns and open fields along Castro Valley’s Cull Canyon Road and you’ll find a group of people with nothing to hide…literally.

The Sequoians, a member-owned-and-operated non-profit nudist organization, has welcomed park visitors and members to bare it all since 1947, making it the Bay Area’s oldest nudist facility.

This Saturday, Oct. 29, the clothes-free club will celebrate its annual Halloween party — the last event before closing down for the season.

From lounging by the pool to hiking along the park’s 80 acres of trails, members take advantage of the facility’s many amenities on weekdays from April to October.

According to member Robbie Phillips, weekends tend to be the liveliest, not only because people are off from work, but also because the park holds special events such as parties and celebrations.

“We’ve had a Jamaican day, last weekend a professor from UC Santa Cruz led a nude wine tasting, we had Kentucky Derby on the lawn and an annual jam where people bring instruments and play together,” said Phillips.

Former president of the park, Bev Axelrad, explained that weekends are also reserved for non-members willing to pay a fee. Visitor admission is offered in order to attract potential members.

“We allow guests with hopes that they will possibly join,” said Axelrad. “Everything you see here is member-done. We have the responsibility of preserving the place.”

Since its inception, the land has been completely preserved by Sequoians members. However, one of the biggest changes over the years was the formation of nudist rules.

“There are lots of strict rules,” Axelrad said. “The club is not a pick-up place; the behavioral codes are pretty strict.”

Nudists at the Sequoians follow the American Association for Nude Recreation’s Nudists’ Bill of Rights. These 10 rules include nudists’ rights to manage their families as they see fit, assemble in the nude in appropriate public locations and be free from adverse actions by employers.

Phillips said the Sequoians developed from a nudist club in Sonoma County. People accessed the Sonoma property by crossing a neighbor’s land.

The original owner did not mind people crossing his property. However, after WWII, the property was purchased by an admiral who banned the nudists from crossing over.

Eventually, the displaced nudists purchased the Castro Valley property.

“Eight families pooled together their money and bought 80 acres for $8,000,” Phillips said. “The land was cheap because it was useless — it was too steep for grazing and the lumber had already been removed.”

The 1940s may seem like a conservative era for nudism, but according to Phillips, the nudist movement originated from the German philosophy American soldiers discovered during the war.

“[Nudism] started as a popular health movement,” Phillips said. “It was all about calisthenics and having the sun and air over your entire body.”

Sequoians President Bill Hendricks said that participation at the park has fluctuated throughout the years due to popularity trends of nudism and competition from other nudist venues.

“It is hard for us to compete with nude cruises,” Hendricks said. “Carnival has five to seven ships booked through 2013 for one to four-week cruises.”

Nevertheless, Hendricks expressed his belief in the value of social nudism.

“After feeling a little awkward the first time, you become you, and you respond to others without the prejudices associated with wearing clothing,” he said.

The fee for non-members is $25 per visit, or $35 for a couple. Membership is $375 per year plus 15 hours of work or an additional $150.

While many would view his activities as kinky and bordering on sexual perversion, Pune-based Ramanathan doesn’t actually have sex on his mind.

Far from it, being in the buff is his way of feeling free, shedding both physical and emotional baggage and being close to nature. He is a naturist, or in other words a nudist.

Naturism is a way of life that advocates practising nudism – both in private and public – without indulging in any sexual activities.

A fairly popular concept in the US, Britain, Canada and Thailand, a regular nudist meet abroad has both men and women engaging in any activity – from cooking to cycling to sunbathing – with only one precondition, everyone should be naked.

However, timid first-timers can be allowed to turn up fully-clothed to get used to the nudity around them. No one stares, no one gets erotic ideas. The whole idea is to have a friendly get-together — sans clothes.

“It’s like a family atmosphere. It’s a feeling of community. No one is conscious of his or her nudity,” explains Mammon Shaktimangalam, 66, who has attended many naturist events abroad.

Though the West has warmed up to the philosophy, what with optional-clothing beaches, parks and pools, India, with its many taboos, is still talking about it in hushed tones or in the comfortable confines of the virtual world.

Naturist get-togethers are rare and take place only at the house of a trusted fellow nudist as the law prohibits nudity in public.

But there’s no lack of initiative to mobilise people curious about the philosophy. Take, for instance, Shaktimangalam, who formed the Naturist Indian Meetup Group last year.

The retired insurance professional organises monthly meetings at the Indian Coffee House in Delhi where people brainstorm and exchange ideas on naturism.

Dwelling on the subject, Shaktimangalam says naturism is the very basis of a classless society.

“Clothes create class barriers. Someone wears a branded shirt, someone an ordinary one. But without clothes, everyone is equal,” Shaktimangalam told IANS.

“Moreover, we respect all body types. The ideal body shown in films makes people uncomfortable with themselves. But to us, it doesn’t matter if someone is fat or slim or has stretch marks,” he adds.

Ankur Nath, an animation artist based in IT-hub Bangalore, says he’s come a long way from his self-conscious days.

“The first nudist meet I attended was a disaster. Though I had been rehearsing it in my head, it was a nightmare to bare all in front of everyone, particularly women.”

Awkwardly and clumsily, Rehmat got rid of his clothes.

Then there’s industrialist Rajeshwar Singh, whose wife and friends are unaware of his naturist tendencies.

“I don’t intend to hide it. But it’s something that you need a real broad outlook to understand. In India, shedding clothes is equated with sex,” says the 32-year-old.

“I’ve been practising nudism behind closed doors for many years. It’s all about being comfortable with your body,” he adds.

Sanjay Mishra, 25, stumbled upon the Naturist Indian Meetup Group after a couple of random searches on the internet. “I come from a very conservative family, so I gathered all the knowledge online,” he says.

Hailing from Bihar, Sanjay’s tryst with naturism, like many others, started in his teenage.

“I used to love being nude. I used to love bathing…There are few things that can match the feeling of sun rays, air or water directly touching your body,” says Sanjay, an engineer in Noida.

Though internet, with its virtue of discretion, has come to the rescue of those willing to look for ‘like-minded’ people, the social setup prevents them from taking that final step to attend a nudist get-together and virtual plans rarely become a reality.

Ask Shaktimangalam, who has been tirelessly trying to take his group beyond the confines of coffee houses but with little success.

“People talk a great deal on the internet, but there are very few who’re actually willing to do something. Besides, we attract a lot of perverts who have to be screened out… Convincing women of their safety is also not an easy task,” he says.

Appearing on street corners and boarded-up storefronts, the images are part of a street art installation by Xvala, and Scarlett Johansson is merely the latest subject in the growing exhibit. Xvala’s mission appears to be to get people thinking twice about their actions, and the inclination of society to share their information with technology. Interestingly enough, West Hollywood society has become very interested in not sharing Xvala’s work, as he has asked the community to stop stealing his art from the streets.

The campaign is called Fear Google, and the project has featured the reproduction of several celebrity nude and private leaked photos with stylization by the artist. Sensational outlets, like E! Online, have discounted his work as a publicity stunt, but the entire scope of his portfolio backs up the fact that he truly has a message about transparency in this digital age. Xvala’s work uses celebrities to get people thinking twice about the information they readily give up to companies like Google, Twitter, and Facebook.

Controversy follows Xvala’s work whenever he installs it on city streets, and he has hit everywhere from Santa Monica to San Francisco, but it remains to be seen if his message will have any effect on the masses. Scarlett will surely think twice about allegedly taking naked pictures of herself, but can it change the actions of the general public?

In fact, B.G. Parkes said her goal is to maintain a very low profile.

“They won’t even know we’re here,” she said. “It will be quiet.”

Despite her reassurances, some nearby residents already know Parkes and a business partner have bought the campground and they’re concerned about changes planned for the business.

Parkes said she and her business partner, Tom Gillenwater, plan to spend $350,000 to renovate the 30-acre campground on the Suwannee River. In May, the campground will change names to Suwannee Valley Resort and guests will have the option of wearing clothes or nothing at all.

“It’s a private resort,” Parkes said. “We don’t want to cause problems.”

Stephen Williams, 68, said he is worried about his property value plummeting when people learn a nudist resort is operating about 500 feet from the house he has lived in the past 32 years.

“I’m not particularly concerned about the lifestyle,” he said. “I’m concerned about the county’s image. It hurts other people’s opportunities to make a living.”

Williams said a nudist resort could harm the county’s efforts to promote eco-tourism on the Suwannee River and throughout the region.

“This river is international in scope,” he said. “It’s revered throughout the world.”

Parkes, who is also the director of an organization called Bare Buns Bikers, said an eight-foot fence will be erected around the campground’s perimeter and guests will be met by security at the entrance.

Gillenwater said “no trespassing” signs will be posted around the resort’s perimeter. Signs inside the resort will remind guests where they are not allowed unless they are clothed. Rule breakers will lose membership privileges at the resort and be asked to leave, he said.

“We want to make sure everyone’s protected, not offended,” he said. “Our security is our No. 1 priority.”

Other plans include improvements to roads and existing structures, as well as opening a restaurant and bar at the site for guests.

And a thorough background check will be conducted on all members and their guests staying at the campground.

“Our security standards are very strict,” Parkes said. “No one with a criminal history will be allowed in. We will not have any riff-raff. We don’t want to cause any problems.”

Parkes said most guests will arrive in recreation vehicles or cars, though some people will ride motorcycles to the resort.

Most guests will be aged from the mid 40s to mid 70s and have a higher education and income than average. Many members are military veterans, she said.

Bill Ferry is another resident who is curious about the campground’s future. Ferry has worked at the campground doing general maintenance more than a year. He agreed to stay on as an employee after Parkes and Gillenwater bought the site.

“I’m not sure what the transition will be like,” Ferry said. “If this isn’t the lifestyle for us, we’ll move on.”

But Ferry said it’s likely he will stay and doesn’t think White Springs residents will have any complaints.

“People who are being negative have to look at the positive,” he said. “These are great people to work with who have big plans.”

During events that attract large groups to the area, such as the Suwannee River Jam, resort guests will be transported in vans provided by Parkes and Gillenwater to minimize traffic in the White Springs area.

Carolyn Hawkins, spokeswoman for the American Association for Nude Recreation, said nudist resorts typically help local economies.

Hawkins said owners of other resorts affiliated with her organization, founded in 1931, follow strict guidelines to guarantee the privacy of guests and respect the surrounding community.

“When they are affiliated with us, they know what standards they have to follow,” she said. “The owner of that property will follow all the procedures.”

Hawkins said the appeal to many nudists is that all barriers are dropped when they visit a clothing optional resort.

“They do have all walks of life,” she said. “Not wearing clothes, you don’t have anything to judge them on.”

Williams said he realizes there is little he can do to stop the resort from opening. He simply hopes the owners live up to their promise to run the business in a responsible manner that will not offend others in the community.

“I really want them to live up to what they say they will do,” he said. “I’m glad they sound like they are going to be low key.”
