Naked Hiker Free As He Likes

The man dubbed the “naked hiker” has been acquitted after a court in the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes found the 47-year-old not guilty of indecent behaviour.

The walker had refused to pay a 100 franc fine after a woman complained about him walking naked along a path near Herisau.

Unlike Appenzell Inner Rhodes, naturist walkers are not banned in Appenzell Outer Rhodes.

The state will have to pay the 2,000 francs in court costs.
